Ratio 1x12 Conversion Kits

For those who doubt the utility of a 1x drivetrain, the Ratio kit is for you.  With it, you can run a 12 speed SRAM mountain rear derailleur and a 12 speed cassette, while hanging onto your existing SRAM Rival or Force 11 speed brifter.  In a nut shell, most folks think 1x drivetrains are more limited, gear range wise, than a 2x or 3x drivetrain.  This is true, unless you can run a 12 speed cassette.  E13 and SRAM, as well as Garbaruk, make ultra wide range 12 speed cassettes.  The E13 gives the widest range, with it’s 9-50 gearing.  A 36t chainring with a 9-50 cassette gives the same gearing range as a 44/34/24 tooth triple and an 11-34 cassette.  With less weight, better shifting, no front derailleur.  

The Ratio kit is a bit of a bugger to install.  We can do it for you, but with some patience and gentle swearing, you can as well.  You replace the indexing gear in the shifter, and a small piece on the rear derailleur to make it work.  It’s maybe 30 minutes of work, but a great payoff.  

How does it shift?  Great.  You’ll never know it was a hack.
